About

Hi, I’m Kelly

Portrait_Kelly_Bullock

I started drawing from the time I could pick up a pencil. I remember obsessively trying to recreate photographs of nature in graphite. By the time I was in high school, I had developed a fascination for neuroscience and psychology after being gifted a few science books from my grandmother. I went on to pursue a BSc in Biology at the University of Texas at Arlington and a MSc degree in neurophysiology from McGill University.

Throughout my research experience at university and graduate school, I noticed a gap between the technical experts and the various audiences they served. Not only is there a gap in training in science communication, but competing demands on researchers’ time which results in less emphasis on science dissemination. Science communication became a passion and I decided to open a scientific illustration studio to address that gap. Now I create engaging visuals to help researchers and life science professionals communicate their research and work to a diverse audience.

MY PROMISE

I guarantee that your project will be thoroughly researched for scientific accuracy. I will work flexibly to meet your deadline, budget and usage requirements. As a total science nerd, quality and accuracy are top priority. I will be communicative and prompt with updates so you can give feedback early and often. I am dedicated to delivering value, so contracts are only complete once the work is completed to the satisfaction of the client.
